What is a good price for good furnace glass beads? I say *good* beads
because I've seen some that just... I don't know... didn't 'zing' with me.
There is a local fellow who makes the most delicious furnace glass. It looks
edible, I swear to you! I lust over it all the time. LOL!

Anyway, he sells by the pound only. YIKES! I'm sure his prices are fair,
though they are by no means the lowest around. I always prefer to pay a
little more if it means I'll be getting what I really want.

Anyway, just thought I'd ask here to see how MUCH more this is going to be.
LOL! Oh, and if anyone wants to share a furnace glass order..... : )

Hey Tink..

I usually see about 145-150 a pound for furnace glass. There was just a posting about this on the NBS board. Let me see if I can find it....

Thanks Barbara! That link led me to Ayla's, which looks like the best place
according to my research. Unless I can get my local guy to sell to me
wholesale.

I've found that paying by the pound for furnace glass is the best way to go,
$$-wise. Does he insist on a minimum?

Anywhere from $140 a pound for average beads to $175 for really great furnace
glass beads (i.e. exceptional shapes, lots of latticino, aventurine and color).

Too tapped out by teeth and wire-work experiments right now, but I'd
certainly consider joining a furnace-glass buy some time in the future
when I had more $$ to throw around.
