I've checked at the B&B website, but I can't remember the name of the
article and just reading the names of the articles (all the way back to
1997) doesn't give me any clue in order to find which issue it's in. I
tried narrowing it down to only necklaces & brickstich, but that didn't
help either. They have "names" for the articles that don't tell me a clue
which one might be the ginko leaf instructions.
Does anyone know which issue this is? (month/year) Or if Diane
Fitzgerald did do this stitch, is it included in any book of hers to buy
that details how to make the leaves? TIA :)

Happy Beading, Karen
I think Karen is right - we have all seen the pictures, but that was in ads for
classes etc. (which may be what you were thinking of)
If you wanted to try something similar on your own, IIRC it is 2 or 3 drop
brick stitch w/ lots of increases.

Diane had a different project in one of the mags, she's never had the
gingko necklace up for free, she sells kits.

instructions for increasing brick stitch so maybe I'll give one a try on

The best and worst thing about beads is that so many of them fit a tiny
shopping bag, or even my purse (once I've paid for them of course). My
husband asks me what I've spent, and I can answer "a couple of bucks."
Even if the numbers have worn off my credit card, and my purse is in flames
from an excess of spending, it's still only a very small shopping bag.
Hence, the "couple of bucks" ploy works every time. :-)

Of course, it's much harder to hide when your beads live in two
footlocker-sized storage containers and the overflow covers the dining room.
And that doesn't include the projects you're working on in the den and the
living room. :-)
Kathy N-V
P.S: All my other projects are on hold right now while I make beaded Breast
Cancer Awareness ribbons. We're fast approaching the one year anniversary
of my Mother-in-Law's death from breast cancer. Since I am housebound and
can't do all I'd like, I'm making 72 ribbons (one for each year of her life)
and distributing them to friends and family in exchange for a donation to
hospice or cancer research, or simply a prayer for Barbara's soul.
There are pink beads everywhere, and my husband isn't complaining.

Well, I don't take Gingko/Ginkgo Herbs and am terrible at spelling BUT
I knew Ginko was not quite right so I looked it up. And far be it for
me to actually get up and pick up a dictionary and page thru it to look
something up! (besides, that paper version is 20 years old and weighs a
ton) I found the two spellings on the Google search engine,
www.encyclopedia.com and the Merriam /Webster dictionary site.
Seems like both spellings are acceptable and even when it is not spelled
with enough "G" s people seem to understand.
Happy New Year,
Karen

What a wonderful project Kathy! What pattern are you using?
take care, Linda :)
Vancouver Island, bc.ca :) (remove 'nospam' to reply)
But when the correction was made I got curious. And when someone said both
spellings were used, I looked again in my seed catalogues and herbalists,
and again found only the one spelling. It makes me even more curious about
the other spelling. Thanks for the source. I'm just an anachronism, I
trust books way more than the web.

FWIW, my online dictionary software spells it "gingko".
I think perhaps it gets confused with "gecko", which would give rise to the
