I got to take a couple of classes recently, which is why I haven't been on
the list for the past couple of weeks. One was in boroscilicate lampwork,
but not beads! It was making little figures, which I absolutely loved.
When I get good, I figure I can run away and work at a carnival. Here's a
picture.

I made the dragon, the hippo, and the elephant. My teacher made the
pegacorn and gave it to me.

Then, I got to take a Pati Walton class, and it was great. I really liked
her a lot, and her husband, John was her TA, and he was wonderful too. I
highly reccomend her class, if anyone's thinking about it (and I don't say
that about everybody!).

Mostly we learned some techniqes, and then would practice them on buttons.
Here's a picture with one of Pati's buttons and three of my pitiful
offerings. I don't think I need to explain which one is Pati's! I may
NEVER get the hang of doing irises like she does!

And lastly, I'm putting up a picture of the dinosaur pilot. Hubby built
this RC plane, and my daughter refused to let him cut up a toy guinea pig
for a pilot, but she was willing to sacrifice this dinosaur puppet. In case
you're wondering why the dinosaurs are extinct, it's because RC flyers have
killed them all for parts.

Re: the button picture. I don't wanna seem dense, but which one is Pati
Walton's? Those are so cool!

I just ADORE your boro sculptures! You are doing what I would SO love to do!
Until I find a class to take, I'll have to live vicariously through you!!!
Thanks for posting these things!

LOL
VERY CUTE!

Sounds like you had a good time at the class. The little hippo is cute.
One of my best friends did production boro animals, boats, pianos, etc for
over 20 years- then gave it up to become a chiropractor.

All blockages to my divine charisma have been safely nuked. A furious flow of
creative ideas is begining to snake through me like greased lightning, allowing
me to fall more madly in love with my beads than ever before.

Love the animals! These are another "must collect in great numbers" kind of
thing. I have all kinds. Would have more glass animals if gramma would come off
some of hers. LOL.

I'm with everybody else: which beads are yours? I can't tell the difference.

And the dino pilot is a hoot!

Your animal figures are delightful and your Iris buttons are not pathetic!
They are very pretty.

Ok, you all. Flattery will get you everywhere! The button to the left is
Pati's. The other three are mine.

A friend of mine's stepmother knits the most wonderful sweaters. I told my
friend that I'll have to collaborate with her stepmom and make some buttons
for one of her sweaters. I just thought these would look so neat with a
handknit sweater.

Oh WOW! Yeah! (And I really couldn't tell which buttons were yours, and which
Pati's -- honest)
