L.J. Yurovsky is a representative of Kiev painters.
L.J. grew up primarily in Kiev and
became heavily influenced by his father, a famous
Russian painter Yuri, who trained L.J.
in the classical system of European academies and
painted directly from life. Fascinated
by the changing light of Mediterranean landscapes he
has travelled throughout France,
Italy, Austria, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and USA. The
impressions left with him by these
travels have had a tremendous impact on his work. His
colors are brilliant and raw: their
spontaneus application reflect the influence of the
abstract expressionists. Through his
unique style he has developed new and innovative
techniques in oil medium . Works have
been shown in numerous galleries and is in private
collections in the USSR, USA,
AUSTRIA, ISRAEL, ITALY, GERMANY.
