I have found a stamp in my collection that has a flag of Tennessee
upside down. It is included in a 1976 bicentenial sheet with all 50
states. Has anyone heard of a stamp misprint such as this. If so, how
does one go about valuing it.

Thanks,

Dave

I have a vague recollection (it was 20 years ago) of all the stamps
being like this. In other words, it may not be a misprint but a design
error. Are you basing this on the pattern of the stars on the flag?

There is an enlightening multimedia presentation on the Zane
Publishing's Encyclopedia of US Postage Stamps CD-ROM. Check out:

There were over 8 million sheets of the 13-cent 50 state flags printed. The
Tennessee design error was widely publicized at the time. Sorry, there is
no premium for that specific stamp. They all list in the '97 Scott at 25
cents each, unused. And they are all still good for use as postage. ;-)
