price. For the most part we do not have duplication of stock so orders
will be dealt with on a first come, first serve basis. Payment can be by

of commerative postage stamps on paper (any quantity) for a credit of $6
against purchase. We will also take Canadian or US mint postage stamps

posting the entire list to rec.collect.stamps and simply post I have a
list of philatelic literature please email me if you are interested
perhaps briefly describing some of the highlights.
Some of us are on systems where we have to pay by the minute for the time
we are on here and I am at 2400 baud and it took at least two minutes to
suck all this into my system before I could proceed with the next posting.
The Stamp Trader List also falls into this category but since I don;t
trade I can just ignore those postings.

It may take more time for you; however, you must realize that only a small
percentage of the people who read r.c.s are actually interested in any one
particular price list. There are many on the net who pay for their access
or who have limited time on-line. The long lists (and repeated lists) get
annouying to those people. Then there's also the issue of bandwidth getting
taken up with long commercial posts.
So here's a simple rule of thumb that seems to have worked fairly well on r.c.s.
in the past. If you have something to sell (as a dealer or collector), post a
brief description. If you need more space, ask interested people to e-mail for
the complete list. Do not post multi-page price lists (splitting a large annoying
post into 6 smaller annoying posts is just as bad). Do not post lists more frequently
than once per month. Of course, usenet is a relatively unregulated medium; however.
do you really want to annoy the people who you want to buy your stamps?
