Help!
I'm trying to figure what country this is. The stamp is an imperf, in the
denomination of 10 pts. It says ZARAGOZA and Pro-Seminario. Also Sin
Valor Postal... Is this one of the former Soviet areas? I'm not sure...

Zaragoza seals are not stamps -- they are more like Easter seals or the like,
with the money paid to help rebuild the seminary there (in Spain).

Zaragoza is a city in the north east of Spain -- up towards
the Pyrenees montains and on the Mediterraneasn side. Not
quite in the domain of the former Soviet Union.

During the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939, Nationalists in
Zarazoga and many other Spanish cities printed stamps,
especially as from August 1, 1937, use of Republican
stamps was forbidden in the Nationalist zone. Many of
these issues were sold for other than postage purposes to
raise funds and as propaganda material. What you probably
have is one of these items. The currency is, of course,
Spanish pesetas.

I'm not a collector of Spain [or of Spanish Civil War] so
you'd best check elsewhere.

Best help may come from a book ["The Postal History of the
Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939" by Ronald G Shelley] which
is almost certainly available from the APS Library [APRL]
and available on loan to APS members ........... another
advantage of membership!

Zaragoza is a city in northeastern Spain. "Sin
valor postal" is Spanish for "no postal value".

As others have said, Zaragoza is in Spain. The 'stamp' is a charity
label, like a christmas seal, and probably dates from the time of the
Spanish Civil War, i.e. 1936-39. I believe I've seen similar and they
have a portrait of Queen Isabella, who is dressed like a nun. 'Pro
Seminario' can also mean "for education" in general; it's not necessarily
a church-related item.

You apparently have a Spanish charity issue, of which there were many
during the Franco years.

Zaragoza is a rather large city in Northeast Spain--the capital of old
Aragon. "Pro-Seminario" could mean "For a seminary or school" and "Sin
valor postal" means "Without postal value"--in other words, it's not a
stamp.

Happy collecting!
