Yesterday my personal post office box contained a U.S. Postal Service notice that I could sign up to use a street address for the post office at which the box is located. This would allow me to get packages delivered by carriers that will NOT deliver to a post office box.

While of no particular interest to me personally, it might be of interest as Exhibit Chair of our local stamp show. If you were an exhibitor, would it make your life significantly simpler if you could use a private carrier to deliver your exhibits to a show?

Of course, I don't know if the post office in which the club box is located plans to make the same offer.

I'd appreciate reasons why you would or would not want to use a private carrier.

I'd use a private carrier but NEVER have it delivered to any Post
Office! It's bad enough that they've lost three KNOWN mailings to my
PO box in 2011. Besides, the PC insurance rates are a fraction of the
cost of the PO and the PO would NOT cover any loss they might
experience once the PC left off the delivery !!!
