(be careful, there may be a trick up my sleeve)
Hi Rodney,
40cts - No Catalog Number - prepared late 1945
According to SG:
"A 40c grey-lilac stamp showing Presidents Justo and Vargas and the
bridge was prepared in 1945 to commemorate the opening of the
international bridge between Argentina and Brasil. It was not issued
but was later sold without franking value."
Minkus shows a picture of the stamp with a catalog number of N791 and
in the 1980 catalog the mint price was 15 cents. It was not listed in
Michel or Scott but both had the same note as SG.
I am looking for the other one but cannot find it as yet. However, it
does look familiar.

The gentlemen on the stamps apologise for their
grooming, I have given them a wash,
and the emperors now have new clothes.

My "political stamp" with thanks from Mr. Tony MacGillycuddy.
Still chasing the other Jerry, I scoured Gibbons.

I'm sorry to have burst your bubble. I did say that the other looked
familiar.
I only collect 3 South America countries, so I have catalogs, both
general and specialized. The general catalogs have all the other
countries that I don't collect.
Anyways, FYI:
