Check out StampSelector.com (http://stampselector.blogspot.com), a
comprehensive philatelic investment blog.

This should be in the -=marketplace=- group as it's an offer to sell
or buy.

This blog presents a lot of information about different countries and their
stamps. For example the article about the price increases of some Chinese
stamps:

http://stampselector.blogspot.com/search/label/China

is noteworthy. Thanks for posting the link, Alex.

Not really.

The blog has links to other sites where you might purchase stamps, but
in itself it's just suggestions of tips for stamps that the blogger
thinks are worthy of purchasing.

Still 'marketing'! Pushing stamps for 'investment' and then linking to
where you can get them is 'marketing'.

Considering how little traffic this newsgroup generates these days it
hardly matters where this type of post goes.

I found some of the blog entries interesting to read, although I had no
inclination to follow up on purchasing anything. Since I don't subscribe
to the marketplace newsgroup I would not have found the blog if the
information had not been posted here.

If you really want to see some off-topic posts go to alt.collecting.stamps.

There's one post on stamps and a 51-message thread on atheism since
January 1. I just counted the messages -- I didn't read them.

OK, I'll start posting notices about upcoming auctions, internations,
national, regional and club. Not the lots, mind, just that [say]
Grosvenor has an auction. Should be good for thirty or so posts a
week. <G>

You can fins that on nearly any group. If the members -=care=- and
it's a multi-post, they 'reply' with the group trimmed off the list.
Easy way to shift off group.
But then, this -=is=- a REC group, not an alt.

That's fine by me, Rien, but I doubt that you will follow through. OK, I
did notice the <G> at the end of your message...

I just resubscribed to the marketplace newsgroup. It has five messages
in it since January 1. It looks like both of the rec stamp groups are on
the decline.

Alex posting was legit but thirty such posts a week would be contrary to the
RCSD Charter, because it says:

"- Announcements of new or existing philatelic Web pages. (No person may
post more than one such announcement in a 24 hour period. Such an
announcement may contain links to more than one Web page. As long as the
message itself is non-commercial and merely calls attention to the Web
pages, the Web pages themselves may be commercial.) "

Go on, Sir, revive this NG with the permitted number of such posts! <g>

Thanks Victor for that clarification. I doubt that we will see even one
post a day from our friend Sir Rien listing such places.

Considering the large number of ISPs that are dropping MG's [mine has
a log-in 'error message' since Jan 2nd!] it's likely that NGs will die
- too much twittering and tweeting.

One can always count on Victor to ignore humor and jump in with all
feet 'churning'. LOL

What he forgets is that I'm one of the -=writers=- of the charter!

Victor ignoring humor... that's really comic. The link in my signature says
more about really having fun on RCSD.

Now I understand why at least a part of our charter was wiped out from our
friend's Sir Rien long-term memory: he was among those who wrote the RCSD
charter!
