FS : PSA 10 1999 Topps Tek Pat Burrell

The player : Pat Burrell was the #1 pick in all of baseball in the major
league draft in 1998.
He broke many records at the University of Miami. In Double A with the
Phillies this year, he consistently crushed the ball, hitting for a high
average and for lots of power. He is learning how to play the outfield, and
1B, so the Phillies can use him there (he played 3B in college, but we all
know that 3B for the Phils is taken up by Scott Rolen already). With Scott
Rolen, Bob Abreu, and now Pat Burrell ready for the 2000 season, the Phils
will have a very good offensive machine. They just added a very good
pitcher in Alan Ashby (via trade with the Padres), so its clear they are
looking to make a playoff run. If Pat Burrell starts the season with the
major league club, it is obvious that he is the frontrunner for the Rookie
of the Year
The card : Topps Tek is a new issue product from Topps...it is only the 2nd
year printing this issue, with 1998 being the first. In 1998, I don't think
they had any rookies in the set, but the 1999 issue does...the most
important being Pat Burrell. The card looks fantastic (email me if you
would like to see a scan). In the October 1999 PSA population report, there
are currently only 18 1999 Topps Tek Pat Burrell cards that were graded PSA
10...so this is only 1 in 18.
