Paper Money Dealers
(last updated: Jan 17, 1996)

[NOTE: Paper money dealers are trying to make a living at what
they do. They don't have the time or the inclination to chat
about the hobby any more than anyone else making a living has
time to handle a constant stream of people wanting to talk
about things without doing business. If you want to chat, use
rec.collecting.paper-money. Only call a dealer if you want to do
business with them.]

This is a list of paper money related dealers around the world.
It is grouped into three sections: USA, World, and Misc. Within
each section, the dealers are roughly grouped by currency type.
I grouped Condederate States of America in the USA section
(heresy, I know) because most dealers of Confederate notes also
handle USA notes.

There may well be errors in addresses or phone numbers. There
are certainly no guarantees about reliability of any of these
dealers, although membership in an organization such as SPMC,
PCDA, IBNS, LANSA, ANA, etc. generally shows a high level of
ethics etc. For more information, it's a good idea to subscribe
to Bank Note Reporter, which is where many dealers advertise and
where good articles are printed.

You'll notice that most dealers use post office boxes rather
than street addresses. This is to uphold a reasonable level
of privacy and security since most don't have stores. Those
that do have addresses either have stores or keep their notes
in a bank vault.

Eventually this list will be merged into the Paper Money
Collecting FAQ which will then be posted in two sections.

It's still not too late for dealers to contact me to get put
on the list.
