Hi I collect Mexican coins and have a question for you. What is the
nickel based
coin that is 1.165 in diameter about.115 thick and has the words Tierra
Y Libertad
coined into the edge. Thanks for taking time out of your day to
anwswer.

Peter

It would help if you told us the date, denomination, and the general designs
and legends present on both sides.

I don't see any current coins that are 29 mm. in diameter and 2.9 mm
thick. Yours are probably somewhat older. Weight and composition
(i.e., base metal, gold or silver) would be interesting to know.

It would have something to do with Zapata and the Army of the South.
Probably not Revolutionary coinage, but some medal from later on. Hard to
imagine Revolutionary mintings with edge lettering.

It works fine here, but the OP seems to have disappeared.

At 38 mm it is rather larger than the 1.165" diameter the OP
mentioned. Even so, it may help identify a group of coins that do
match.
