Brian Dawson (Paul's dad) has just phoned me and is content to have
the following information put out amongst the numismatic fraternity:-

Paul is alive but on life support and unconcious. His spinal cord may
or may not be OK. The most senior surgeon's words were "it is down to
time and in the hands of the Gods".
He has had brain surgery.

Paul is in the best possible hospital for the situration, specialising
in just this sort of problem.
His parents were unable to see him for the first 36 hours and have
returned home - the hospital believe that to be the best for everyone
and they will contact Brian (dad) when there is any news.

No visitors allowed. Please, no one call at the hospital.

There is no question of the accident being drink related (police agree
that) but the police do not know how it happened, nor does the lorry
driver who is in shock. Paul had over taken some one, then moved over
to the slow or middle lane (I cant recall which) when he impacted the
lorry (which was moving).

No more information. If/when I hear more, I'll let you know. Feel
free to pass this on.
