** Northern Lights - Walkers, Walkers, Walkers - Jun 5 th
Hello and welcome to my 23rd 'Numismatists Online' Sale. This sale is
dedicated to one of the most popular series in U. S. Numismatics, The
Walking Liberty Half Dollar! The reasons for collecting the 'Walkers'
vary among individuals. Most will agree, however, that it is one of the most
beautiful of all U.S. Coin designs. Adolph Weinman's spectacular walking
liberty was actually copied on the current US Mint bullion coin, the silver
Eagle.
Walkers are usually broken down and collected in 3 distinct sets. The short
set consists of the 20 coins dated 1941-1947. Completing this collection
provides a fun, intermediate, and reasonably priced goal for the new
collector. Most collectors eventually decide to expand there short set to
include some of the earlier and scarcer issues dated 1934 and forward. And,
for the truly dedicated individual, the early walkers from 1916 through 1933
provide a significant challenge in high grade. In this sale, I have
something for all levels and budgets!
On to a few highlights of the sale:
A beautiful 1917 in gem uncirculated.
A super 1918 in near gem.
A major rarity, the 1918-S in choice uncirculated.
Plus a large selection of certified coins, and also some high end raw coins
for the collector filling an album. Incidentally, as of this writing, my last 3
sales have resulted ZERO returns, a fact of which I am most proud. So if you
see something you like, be confident in the quality, and I hope you favor me
with a bid!

Partial listing of first 25 lots:
Lot: 1 USA. Half Dollar. 1917. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. NGC.
Pure white, better date early Walker and tough in gem, excellent choice for
the more advanced Walker aficionado! graysheet bid=$700, ask=$775
Current Bid: $637.00. [ R100561 ]
Lot: 2 USA. Half Dollar. 1918. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS64. PCGS.
White satiny early walker. High end for grade which is significant because
the price triples in MS65 ! If you collect the early dates, you know they
usually don't come this nice.
Current Bid: $992.00. [ R100562 ]
Lot: 3 USA. Half Dollar. 1918-S. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS63. PCGS.
Very scarce early walker, light original pearly gold patina, decent strike
and fully choice uncirculated. Most uncirculated Walker collections will
never contain this date! Greysheet bid=$1410, ask=$1550
Current Bid: $1365.00. [ R100563 ]
Lot: 4 USA. Half Dollar. 1920-S. Walking Liberty, Grade: AU58.
Choice slider, flashy and white. One of the keys to the entire walker series.
This coin would look good in an MS-64 set. A little bit of rub will save you
$2500!
Current Bid: $58.00. [ R100564 ]
Lot: 5 USA. Half Dollar. 1936-D. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. PCGS.
Brilliant and satiny, a few light marks in obverse field behind libert are the
only impairments I can see.

Lot: 6 USA. Half Dollar. 1936-D. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. NGC.

Lot: 9 USA. Half Dollar. 1939-D. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. PCGS.
Frosty and white. Fortunately, many of the the later date walkers were saved
in roll quantities. This makes them an affordable series in gem uncirculated
for todays collector.
Current Bid: $83.00. [ R100569 ]
Lot: 10 USA. Half Dollar. 1940-S. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. PCGS.
Nice white ""S"" mint walker. This date is tough in gem. Devoid of any
mentionable marks. In fact, the only thing I can see holding this back from
MS66 is the typically weaker hand detail, which really should not be
considered when grading this date!
Current Bid: $236.00. [ R100570 ]
Lot: 11 USA. Half Dollar. 1940. Walking Liberty, (Proof) Grade: PR65. PCGS.

Lot: 12 USA. Half Dollar. 1940. Walking Liberty, Grade: MS65. PCGS.
