Apparently some coins are more priceless than others.

If it is what they say it is, from the first century after the rise of
Islam, I could see the strong historical attraction of the piece for a
wealthy Moslem.
Of course, the thing that puts a limit on the price of many ancient
coins is the possibility that more pieces could turn up, be uncovered
in hidden hoards, found with a modern metal detector, etc.
