approx. 1 ½ oz's in weight (45 grams); these are also sterling silver. The
pieces represented in this set are as listed in the art bar guide for the
following Lincoln Mint 1 oz. sterling silver series: LIN-43 - Invasion of N.
Africa, LIN-46 - MacArthur Returns to the Phillippines, LIN-47 - Invasion of
Sicily, LIN-51 - Battle of the Atlantic, LIN-55 - Invasion of Anzio, LIN-59 -
D-Day Invasion of Normandy, LIN-63 - The Allied Bombing of Europe, LIN-68 -

According to Steven M. Rood, editor of the Guide Book of Silver Art Bars, this
is the only set in this weight and format that he knows of. The pieces are
serial numbered, 02123 suggesting that at least a couple thousand were made but
Rood indicates that they may have been a 1978 production that was overpriced
and poorly received and then quickly melted down during the 1979 run-up of
silver. There is a recess in the center of the case that was probably for a
descriptive booklet that is missing. Appears to be very rare $300.00
