Has anyone else looked at or tried the new look for Google Groups? To
me, it looks like a change for the sake of change. I'm going to
continue using the old style format with the "tree" on the left. It
just makes reading and replying easier.

Any comments?

Why aren't you using a real news reader like Outlook Express?
There are many free Usenet providers.

I did try Outlook, but didn't care for the format; Google is just
easier for me. I also tried Tera-News, but couldn't get it to work
properly. I'm far from being computer-literate so I go with what's
easy.

There's Outlook and there's Outlook Express.
Regular Outlook (which I believe is a bastard child of Microsoft Office) sucks,
is confusing and generally doesn't work as it should.
Outlook Express, OTOH, is easy to use and takes only a few minutes to set up a
News or Email account.
I recommend eternal-september.org or aioe.org as News servers.
They have fairly good article retention and best of all, they are FREE!
