I NEVER, bid on anything from a seller that has
more negative feedback then positive.
I try to look at the WHOLE COST for the item..
Postage + Insurance + Handling + Tax,
may be more then the item is worth...
A 1971 Proof set with $2.75 postage,
+ $0.85 insurance + $1.00 handling + tax = NO SALE.
For any sellers that want to sell low value items
wait until you can sell more then one at a time.
You can still sell them separately as long as you
consolidate the postage for multiple items won.
Yes I have bid on multiple items from one seller,
only to have won one and still had to pay all the
+++ but, I bid...
Now that I'm on a roll, tell us what you are selling
and what you expect us to pay to have it delivered.
Description;
"1971 Proof Set"
In my mind, I see a Proof set only, no box, on inserts,
spots on the coins, and will expect postage to be at
least $3.50, which even with a winning bid of $1.00
is still probably more then that set is worth.
Oh, by the way.. unless you are selling a music box
or album don't put sound files in your auctions,
although it may be YOUR favorite song it's most
likely not everyones.
This one voice, may echo the same thoughts of others.

It's pathetic things like this that hurts this newsgroup and gets responses
like mighty mouse. I'm sure a few have seen me reply to some of the subjects in
this news group. I'm new to collecting coins because i've become disabled from
an accident and it gives me something new to learn and do as I sit at home
healing. I've been attack for my opinions on this newsgroup by people who think
they are almighty or better than those who are just wanting to know! I've been
accused of being addicted to my computer (Kevin Colusa), but I've learned alot
from this newsgroup also. Especially from John Muchow. Thanks, John! Some of
you are almighty with the keyboard but I would be willing to bet in life, face
to face, your a wimp.
Howdy, saw your post and found it very interesting. Our newsgroup has fallen
over the last two years to a very degraded coin group. I guess we have to
expect it when we let everyone with an opinion freely run their mouths huh?
I too have a disability, but have full use of my body, accept when I have some
attacks. The use of my computer allows me to see the world if you will and
travel around to new places to read about and learn more about coins,
especially die varieties, which I have a passion for.
Try to disreagard the idiots and continue to enjoy your computer by increasing
your knowledge about your beloved hobby. Your efforts to learn show that you
are serious in your efforts to educate yourself. Hang tight!
Gary
To tell you the truth, Gary, I didn't think the post was all that pathetic.
The advise, while presented in somewhat harsh tones, was right on target and
Wylee5 would be well advised to heed it, rather than feel hurt by a slight that
I don't think is there. The post was NOT demeaning to Wylee (at leas t the one
I read) and I don't have a clue what you're referring to.
Wylee asked for opinions about a problem he had with non-response on eBay. The
answer was right on target, albeit somewhat harshly delivered and I guess I'm
puzzed by both Wylee5 and you in thinking that someone was rude to him. When
accepting advice, its better to listen for the content rather than the tone
especially in the written word where one's tone may appear to be unnecessarily
harsh.
If I'm wrong or have missed something in this thread, I'd sure be interested in
being informed as to what it was.
