Dutch lion dollar

A. Delmonte in his 1967 standard reference The Silver Benelux assigned a
date of 1597 to an undated lion dollar from Campen (Delmonte 861).
Anybody know why, the basis for this date?

My guess is that Delmonte (I do not have his catalog) conflated the
undated and dated issues, listing them both under 1597--unless he
indicates that the actual mintage records (or other indication of
issue) survived and that he consulted them.
