Finding Jefferson Nickels in Circulation

I routinely get rolls of nickels from the bank to try and plug the holes in my
Whitman albums.
It has become a rare occurrence to find nickels made before 1964.
Even 70's and 80's dates are becoming uncommon.
I haven't gotten a 2009 yet either.
Where are all those nickels going?

Nowhere. Dealers and other people who appear to know tell me that the 2009
nickels and dimes both are languishing at the Fed because the supply of
circulating coinage is glutted as it is.

I found a 1938-p Jefferson Nickel in change last year. It was still
fine condition, so it makes me wonder did it come from some
collection. Maybe stolen by one of their children?
