Hello all,

I'm hoping that some coin genius will be able to identify a coin by the
probably weak description that follows (no photo i'm afraid).

The coin:
'Silver' in colour

Fairly certain it's modern/current circulation

arabic script - can't identify it myself

the edge is 'wavy' with 12 peaks and troughs (plain, unreaded)

obverse has no picture that I can tell, just script, perhaps the same
script more than once

reverse has a mans head on it, again can't tell you who.

Can't think of much else but I'm hoping the wavy 12 peak edge will ring
bells with someone.

Grateful for any details, if i knew the country I'd be on a winner and
could look it up!! (pretty sure it's not turkish! tho please dont
discount it!!)

Thanks

Clarification (as i learn terms by searching the web):
Scalloped edge, 12 peaks, plain edge. Also i've encountered a few coins
of this design but they all have roman lettering, the coin that i'm
trying to find doesn't have any roman lettering at all. thanks

Your coin is either a 4 fils or a 10 fils, depending on the size, and is
made of a cupro-nickel alloy. The 4 fils is about the size of a nickel and
will show an Arabic 4, which resembles a backward Western 3, in the center.
The 10 fils is somewhat larger than a U.S. quarter, and will show an Arabic
"1" followed by an Arabic "0", which resembles a large, squared-off dot.
The portrait is that of a very young Faisal II, the last member of a royal
family installed by Iraq's self-appointed British protectors. Faisal and
his family were lined up against a wall and machine-gunned in the back by
rebels in 1958. Then the fun in Iraq would really begin.
