childhood memories of television that I have. I can't remember exactly

Worked for me.

Did you notice that NBC Today Show weatherman Willard Scott played Bozo on a
local Washington DC TV station from 1959-1962?

Doing a little research on this I found out that a few years after he stopped
playing Bozo he created the character Ronald McDonald for the hamburger folks.

Additional for Jason....AOL's online Merriam-Webster dictionary says "bozo"
first came into use in 1920....origin unknown.
