When is a Book of the Month Club book not a book club
edition? When it is the only edition.

The other day I found a most unusual book - Stephen King,
Secret Windows: Essay and Fiction on the Craft of Writing
(Book of the Month Club, 2000). Yes, BOMC actually
published the book showing itself as publisher and there is
no other publisher. Some of the contents had never been
published before; others were published only as articles in
magazines; one, at least, was an excerpt from another book
of King's - Danse Macabre.

Has anyone else come across publications by BOMC?

I have a nice little paperback, CARING FOR YOUR BOOKS, by none other
than Michael Dirda. BOMC published it in 1990. I keep it right next to
Newton's THE AMENITIES OF BOOK COLLECTING...
