Lighten up Loogie.
I didn't see this post as political. The topic of nuclear power is one
that has pros and cons and is a hot topic. All alternative energy is
expensive but once in place Nuclear is probably cheaper to maintain than
solar or wind. I am concerned about what to do with the waste but
science will solve that problem, I'm sure.

Just replying. It's true. Take global warming for instance. Ask just
about any conservative. The scientists and all of the compiled data is
just plain stupid. Rush and Hannity say that global warming isn't
happening, so disregard all of that data, right?

Sounds like political BS to me.
"Change" would be an energy task force quickly coming up with
legislation to help fund nukes NOW, without regard to climate change
legislation. Energy policy is energy policy, and everybody already
knows that nukes are "climate-friendly."
Doubt it would meet much resistance in Congress beyond the nominal
anti-nuke greenies.
Instead, it's classic DC bet-hedging, finagling and stalling.
And nothing is happening. Just talk. Just talk.
Nothing will happen until car gas hits 5 bucks a gallon.
Money talks, bullshit walks.
Hey, what does that mean anyway? Never saw bullshit really walk.
It can creep along a bit when still warm though.

serious action. But, we'll see if it's more than just talk so they'll

I posted a link to a Washington Post (liberal newspaper) article. If

Why would you consider what Obama and leading Democrats are doing to

Well John, you've got to admit that he has a point. We have lost a
lot of good people from this group over the years because of the
constant bickering over off topic postings, mostly political in
nature. I am not anti-nuclear power, far from it, but since it's not
about boats, boating or have much of a common group interest, it would
be eay to make the case that it doesn't belong here. And yes, I am

You're conversing with a host of sub-average Americans. DK is among
the subbest in rec.boats. Maybe he should be a charter member of a
rec.subs newsgroup -- although it'd be a slight to those who fancy
submarines.

You should be honored. "Rob" only comes here to try to insult you, Don
White, or me. His behavior has been consistent through all his
sockpuppet ID's in rec.boats. He was one of the original inhabitants of

though. Ask him about them. :>)
