This may *not* be your problem, but last year I had the same problem
with my Mercruiser 350. The big, 50 amp circuit breaker on the engine
would trip, killing all power. Turns out one of my batteries had an
internal short. Replaced the bad battery and the breaker has not
tripped since. (knocking on wood).

I had the same thing happen last year on my Fourwinns 235.
Try this first before you go crazy looking at all your motors.
It was only that the large wiring harness plug by the breaker buttons
was loose. Who ever installed the engine didn't use the hose clamp
meant to keep it in place.
Pull it out, spread the pin's apart and shove it in . Then wrap a SS
hoseclamp around it to hold it there.
