I think the quality control went out the door because of Unions (Can't fire me!
Naa Naa).and that is why we bought non American cars. My motorcycle is a rice
burner too!

you had to live in Pittsburgh in the early 80's just as steel was going
down. These guys had always gone on strike and gotten what ever from
USX. When times were tough because of imports, USX asked for it back.
The unions said no. So USX shut the mills. Then they got torn down.
The union guys sat there and picketed empty sites. They really thought
it was all gonna come back. Needless to say, it didn't. and these guys
were making BIG bucks. now they are probably at Wal-Mart for minimum
wage

It's a product of both. You can't protect the union from competition
without giving the corporation a free ride as well. Both got lazy, the
consumer suffered and the Japs were working long hours.
Toyota and Yamaha built their plants out in redneckville where the
ignorant asswipes were too damn stupid to realize the world owed them
a living.

Try again. I quoted from a link that was posted that said WM was going
to pay that rate at the DC they wanted to build in Ct. and I have NEVER
said that WM is a great employer. If you would have read all my posts,
instead of the parts that you wanted to, you would have seen that I
posted that I did NOT like Wal-Mart's practices. I think Sam was a
major predator, and I know that he was not this wonderful person that
was so down to earth that he drove an ancient pickup all the time.
Sam's goal, and Wal-Marts is to wipe out every competitor. Except for
K-Mart that is hanging on by it fingernails they have done this. But
they didn't do it alone. without customers coming into their doors,
they couldn't have gotten to the point they are at. So don't throw all
the blame on Wal-Mart.
