Grumman Canoes

Grumman Boats was a subdivision of Grumman Allied Industries in
Marathon, New York. They manufactured there canoes most recently in
Minong, Wisconsin....I'm guessing on this...I have a 1990 model and
that's the city listed on the serial number plate. I recently wrote to
them at the following address...it was the address included with
warranty info when I bought the canoe.

I've also heard a rumor that they have been bought out by Northrup (sp?)
and that they will no longer be making their canoes...but continue with
the fishing boat stuff. If that's the case you should check out
Alumacrafts....not quite as nice, but a very close second for someone
who's looking for an aluminum canoe. I've always used one (aluminum)
for extended tripping (over a week) and wilderness journeys where you
really can't "afford" minor repairs...and for all the other reasons
aluminum boats are cool....
