I have dedicated a page on my website for anyone interested in the Aquadrive
consisting of a magazine advert and a link to the manufacturers website. I
have only just uploaded it so it might take a few hours to be available.

I would say that most of the boat stuff that I buy is European although
obviously some US products are available.Quite a few of the European
countries have a long maritime history and therefore are not so reliant on
US products and some other fields of commerce. West Marine has just set up
here in the UK which I believe is a US company, comments as to quality and
price would be appreciated.

As far as boats are concerned, I would say that 90% of small (less than 20')
outboard powered boats are UK or French built. Most of the sailboats of all
sizes are likewise although Hunters are now being imported although under a
different name as there is a British yacht makers branded as British Hunter.
It is the inboard powered motor cruisers that tend to be US built. Lots of
Bayliners etc! There are also an influx of Prolines, Boston Whalers and the
like.

The bigger cruisers are the Princess', Sealines etc. Don't know what country
they originate from as I don't tend to look too closely at things I can't
afford!

Well not wanting to be a trainspotter, I just happen to have the figures
handy from the British Marine Industries Federation survey: 7 million
adults involved in boating, 2 million boats, 82% of which are British-
built.
