Hi folks,

Just won this on Ebay. It came in excellent condition, and seems very
well made.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2717730819

The fluid is a little cloudy, and there seems to be small brownish
particles in it. It came with the original lighting kit and
instructions, all in it's original box. Perfect shape, except for the
above.

Does anybody see any reason why this might not be a good idea to use
on my boat? Do compasses just get too old to use? Should I send it out
for service, and have the fluid replaced and get the brown flakes out?

Thanks all.

Donny, who really HATES this snow we're still getting!
