Broken belt on Mercruiser 3.0 (I/O)....!

I have a 1989 Glasstream Cutlass 172 runabout with Mercruiser 3.0 inline
4 cyclinder/135HP (I/O drive). The driving belt which turns the pully and
alternator was broken this weekend. By looking at it seems like I have
to unbolt the front engine mount so to get the new belt into the loop.
The idea of loosing the front engine mount scares me quite a bit. Is
there any easier way to change the belt? Is this something I should
leave to a mechanic?

Some older models had a spacer block that was removable by taking out
only two of the four bolts. If your's does not have it, the front mount
must removed. It's not as bad as it sounds.
