Can anyone provide information/comments on the Rinker Fiesta Vee 266? What
are some comparible boats in the same class? A friend has a Mariah Z276
which is a nice boat, but is priced somewhat higher.

Thanks in advance.

Mariah has just introduced the Z260MCC. I think you will find it a great
alternative to the Z276 (now the Z280). It will definately be worth your
time to check into this great new boat. Once you compare all the standard
features, not to mention quality, you will see the price difference is
more than worth it. However this new boat should be more into your price
range.

When you compare the construction of the Rinker Fiesta Vee 266 to these
others, you'll find there is no comparison. The Rinker utilizes a one
piece liner that unitizes all bulkheads and cabinets as one piece. This
puts it in a completely different class than the stick built boats.
Check the lamination schedules and materials used in the boat. Don't be
caught up in the glare of some electric seat sliders or phony options as
standard, some of these other brands are peddling sizzle without the
steak. As a matter of fact you will be hard pressed to find another
26/27' boat for any price that will incorporate the liner construction
of the Rinker 266.

If you are looking at the Rinker, and like it, you should check out
Bayliner. They are in the same class.

When you say they are in the same class, how specifically would you
liken the two?

From what I have seen, the Rinker Fiesta Vee and Bayliner cierra series
are of similar quality. Construction, Fit and finish, materials, and
amenities appear to be comparable.

I looked at a new 266 a while back, It appeared to be fairly well built,
but was very spartan, I couldn't find a piece of wood on the whole boat.
The inside of the hull was finished nicely. Other than the boring (in my
opinion) interior I noticed a few flaws. The door to the head did not fit
properly, rubbed on one side with an uneven gap. Same thing with a cupboard
door. Another thing I didn't like, they no longer have side windows which
can be slid open, only tiny oval windows which offer no ventilation. On the
plus side, the have a 1 piece liner which should add to rigidity, but I
wasn't impressed. I have also looked at new Donzi's down in Sarasota and
were not impressed. These boats were junk! Every model I looked at had
obvious flaws. One that comes to mind, I forget what size, but the price
tag was 134,000, the door to the head was such a lousy fit you couldn't even
close it. I also noted many trim pieces that looked like Skippy put them
on. They used good quality components, but did a lousy job putting it all
together.

I have only looked at about a dozen new boat brands, and the best ones I've
looked at (in my opinion) are Sea Ray, Crownline, and Cobalt, although I'm
sure there are many others.

So you know where I come from, I have a 1990 Rinker FV 250. I'm happy with
mine, but if I were going to spend the money on a new one, I'd get something
else, (and not a Bayliner either).

Happy Hunting,
Kevin
