Well, my comparison was mistated. I just received my price lists for these
boats and the fully outfitted boat price for each with upgraded diesel,
generator, a/s, fishing gear, electronics, most all available options, etc.
is as follows:

Albin 28 TE - $129,000 - $135,000

Mainship 30 Pilot = $176,000 - $180,000

This assumes both with hard top enclosure, and full gear.

My next boat of curiosity to compare to the Albin is the Fortier 30 & 33.

Does anyone know anything about or have experience with a Fortier boat?
Price? Etc? I've requested the price list on this one as well.

Also, the Osprey 29. It seems to list for $135,000 - $150,000 fully
outfitted, but I'm not sure what this includes. I need to get a price list
for this boat to compare also.

To date the Albin seems to be the clear winner in price. I realize it's 4
feet shorter than the Mainship, but to me, the 4 feet don't equate to $50k.

Greg,

If you are looking at those boats in that price range (as I was a year ago)
take a look at Norstar Boats. I did and fell in love with them. The Albin
was my second choice.

Norstar makes a 30' twin diesel cruiser. Either flybridge or hardtop.
Quality second to none.

Check them out: www.norstarboats.com

I love mine!

Greg: I, too, spent a year looking for a boat with the features you
describe. I settled on a used Albin 28 with low hours at one half the
price. After six months, i believe I made the right choice for mid-
Atlantic fishing and cruising.

A dealer (in Michigan) was showing a Mainship Pilot 30 at the
fall in-water boat show. This boat was new, but a year old.
Guess he had not been able to sell it. With bow-thruster
and a few options, he was asking $ 100K.

STAY AWAY FROM THE MAINSHIP.... I cant stress that enough. Having
owned a 1995 40' sedan bridge I will tell you that any product that
comes out of that factory is garbage. We had it surveyed and the list
just wnet on and on with problems.

If you want to read a survey on a similar mainship go to
http://www.yachtsurvey.com and read on the mainship 31 sedan bridge.
It is smaller yet none the less the same junk
