Not being very familiar with he brand, my wife and I are considering a used
2002 Rinker Fiesta Vee 310 as our next boat. We have looked at SeaRays 310's
and 330's from 1995 to 2000 and also FourWinns 328 Vista. Dollar for dollar
the Rinker beats them all. Are we missing something here? The surveyor we
have used before says to stay away from Rinker, no resale, but for the
price, they look like a very good deal. It would be fresh water lake use.
Any and all input would be appreciated. Thanks.

We've owned a Rinker since 95. We bought a new 95 265 Fiesta Vee. We've
been very happy with the boat. My wife really likes the 342 but it's a bit
out of our price range right now. Your right you do get more for your money
with Rinker.

I think in the late 80's and early 90's the Rinkers were a little thin but
toward the mid 90's they took care of that problem. We would not hesitate to
buy another Rinker.

Hope this helps,

I'm a rag sailor, but a friend got an about 28' Rinker a couple of years
ago. Through the first season, the boat was unnamed, but looking like it
was going to be "Stinkin' Rinker" due to the problems they had early on.

When we rafted up with them that 4th of July, we had wind, but it wasn't
particularly rough. Their anchor platform deformed.

Over the winter, they decided the problems had been fixed to their
satisfaction and named her something reasonable.

On the way back from the Memorial day raft up, the engine swallowed a
valve. It was fixed under warrantee, after some "discussion", but they
missed most of that season.

Yes, that's anecdotal, but it does match what your surveyor says.
Surveyors are often the best people to listen to, particularly when they
go out on a limb and pan a boat.

Last time I checked, Rinker wasn't manufacturing engines. So, what the hell does
the fact that it "swallowed a valve" have to do with the question about the
quality of Rinker's?
By the way, I do not nor have I ever owned a Rinker, so I am not being defensive.

I had a 20 ft rinker, more like an 18 ft boat with a 2 foot swim
platform. I took that boat from Boston to NYC by water and back and
everywhere in between. I loved that boat. they can say what they will.
you can have great times and create wonderful memories with a Rinker.
( as with any boat)

I have a 1999 Rinker 272 bought new. I have used it for four seasons
and 350 hours with pleasure and no problems. I also had a 1985 Rinker
18 foot runabout bought new in 1985 and used for 800 hours until 1998
and turned it over to my son. Both boats are/were well maintained and
gave us trouble free boating. I have found Rinker boats to be
reasonably well built with no frills. I'd buy another. Good luck
with your choice.

P.S you might want to check the J. D. Power website to see data on
customer satisfacton with this and other brands.

My parents bought a Rinker 280 new in 1994. Upon delivery there were about 2 or
3 minor fit and finish issues that were promprtly repaired by the dealer and
the boat has been trouble free ever since. They love it. They've gotten good
use of it for the past 9 years and expect to keep it for at least the next 9.
In their marina there are a few similar Sea Rays, Bayliners. Chris Crafts, etc
of around the same age and known have survived the test of time any better then
the Rinker. Mom says eventually when they buy a new boat she wants another
Rinker. I guess repeat ownership is as good of a recommendation as anything.
