I have come across a Rinker 180 Bowrider, a Bayliner 2050 Capri SS,
and a SeaRay 190 Bowrider. The Rinker has a 4.3LX and is an 18' boat.
The Bayliner has a 5.7L 2bbl and is a 20' boat. The SeaRay has a 4.3 L
and is a 19' boat. The Rinker is roughly $14,000, the Bayliner is
$15,450, and the SeaRay is $16,695. Only the SeaRay has a tarp
included (snap down style). All boats come with trailers. The Bayliner
and SeaRay have depth and trim guages included.
Does any one know which is the best deal or any other better deals?
Are the horror stories I have heard about Bayliner true?
If you can answer any of my questions or have any good advice in
general about purchasing a boat please reply to an...@brookings.net .

Sea Ray is by far superior in dependability and quality. Friends with
Bayliners are always having trouble and NO resale value. Forget the
Rinker too.
Good Luck!
I don't know what you plan on using your boat for, but the best
recommendation I can give you about size of motor is to get the most
horsepower you can afford. My 5.7L V8 does an excellent job getting a
200 lbs + man up on slalom (?). My boat will go 52mph with four
adults, two small children and gear - fast enough for me!!
Happy Boating.....

I too was warned away from Bayliner. However, my Sea Ray had a leak in the
cabin associated with the anchor locker drain which was a craftsmanship
issue. We were getting a huge amount of sea water in the cabin. Not what
you expect from a new "Sea Ray".
They fixed it, and now we have another leak in the mid-berth! This boat is
two-months old and its a "Sea Ray". I ended up with Bayliner nightmares
but paid extra for Sea Ray.
Go figure. I'm starting to believe they are all the same anymore. I never
had a problem with my Grady White.
