It's nice to see that an investigation is being conducted. Maybe the investigation will show enough
evidence to press charges. Then maybe there will be an arrest and trial. Then Zimmerman will either
be convicted and punished or found not guilty.

Then all you amateur sleuths can argue about how biased the judge, jury, prosecutor, defender, and
etc. were.

That's what Kevin would have done were he still around. Oh, and Harry too.

Interesting thing is that all the stirring, howling and marching by the media, sharpton, etc., has actually slowed down the justice process. If the police and presecutors had been allowed to do their jobs without the storm stirred up by them, the Govenor wouldn't have stepped in, and Zimmerman would probably already be arrested.

Can you give an example? I can:

Some are calling a former U.S. Marine a hero for shooting two men —
killing one — during the botched robbery of a sandwich shop in
Plantation. But the men's friends and family want to know how he could
gun them down and not be charged.

John Lovell had just finished dinner at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday when,
Plantation police say, two men armed with guns rushed inside a Subway
shop and demanded cash. After robbing the store, the men turned to
Lovell. They wanted his money, police said.

But like his attackers, Lovell was armed.

The retired military man opened fire, shooting dead Donicio Arrindell,
22, of North Lauderdale, and critically injuring Fredrick Gadson, 21, of
Fort Lauderdale.

Lovell, 71, of Plantation, has a valid concealed weapons permit and is
not expected to be charged in the shooting, said police spokesman
Detective Robert Rettig. Gadson, however, faces multiple felony charges
that could include murder, he said. Under Florida law, anyone who
commits a felony such as armed robbery resulting in a death can be held
accountable for the capital offense.

"He feared for his life," Rettig said of Lovell. "And if he's in fear
for his life, then he has a right to defend himself, even if it means
severe bodily injury or death."

Florida law gives people the right of "self-defense without the duty to
retreat." That means individuals can use deadly force virtually anywhere
to prevent death or serious injury.

Lovell could not be reached for comment despite calls and visits to his
home.

Yeah, good job, hat's off to mr. Lovell. Probably changed the whole
attitude of crims in Lauderdale. I bet it's a while before a couple
armed punks rush some guy at a sandwich shop. Bet gun crime goes down a
bunch there in the future.

The case you cited has very little to do with the typical "stand your
ground" cases. The shooter acted in the midst of a violent felony being
committed and about to be committed on him. He didn't shoot the robbers
because he "thought" they presented a threat to him. The robbers were
armed, and their firearms were visible. It was justified self-defense.

You're an uninformed, uneducated, ignorant little toad, and you really
shouldn't comment on "the news of the day," since you don't have the
competence to do so.

You should stick to what you know: imagining yourself as victimized by
minorities, demonstrating how far you've been mislead by Fox News, and
being a foil for the moronic "trickle down" economics of the GOP. What
you feel tricking down on you is their piss.

Yep, regressives want us back to the wild west days. Somebody says
something wrong to you, shoot him. Someone spits on the sidewalk, shoot
him. And gun crime is rampant and will remain so because most gun crimes
are committed with either a gun stolen from the legal owner or
"borrowed" from the legal owner.

Histrionics from the hysterical left.

Actually, most people favor retaining the right to protect one's self with a legally owned firearm. Most on the left favor taking that right away.

So we are in agreement... the gun crime problem is not with legal gun owners, but criminals. Good. Let's go after them, not legal gun owners.
