There is a company here in the UK called Marine and Offshore Services
that will train people. I did a course with them and there teaching
methods are second to none. In the case of bad weather they have a
simulator that you can use, with vessels ranging from a super tanker
to a modest cruiser. I beleive that Princess boats use them to train
people who have ordered a boat from them. I do now that one of the
crew from 'October Rose' (I think she is owned by the chap who runs
general Motors) did a course with them.
They can be contacted as follows,
Richard Phillips. Marine and Offshore Services, Melville Block, Royal
William Yard, Stonehouse, Plymouth, Great Britain.
I must say that I have nothing to do with this company at all except
that I have done a course with them and I would recommend them to anyone.
Regards
Steve
