Hello,

We want to inform you about the existence of a new website
www.boatswap.info
This website wants to be a meeting place for people who want to exchange
boats on a non-commercial base for recreational purposes, with boat
owners in France, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Ireland etc.

The idea for the website came after a successful swapping this year with
an Irish family whom we contacted through the Internet and who wanted to
swap boats just like us. They wanted to explore the Dutch and Belgian
Waterways and we wanted to discover the Irish ones.

You can find the account of our Irish swap partner on the
uk.rec.waterways. It can be found easily through Google Groups using the
key words "boat swap to the Netherlands".

Before and during our sailing tour we have been told from many sides
that people thought is a good idea to swap boats. We have decided then
to make a website on the Internet so that people from different
countries who are interested in boat swapping can meet each other.
To enlarge the geographical area we have decided to make the website in
four languages, Dutch, English, German and French. The French version is
on his way.

It works as follows. Boat owners who are interested in swapping can
subscribe. For the part that is left of the year 2002 this is free.
After that, beginning in the year 2003, we ask a small fee to cover the
costs of maintenance of the website. The costs are 10 EUR for the
subscription, this amount you pay only one time. For the registration in
the database you pay 25 EUR for a calendar year.

We take care of the network, the exchange agreements are made by
yourself."

We hope you are interested and would like to meet you at:

http://www.boatswap.info
http://www.echangedebateau.info (is on his way)

Best wishes,

Swapping boats is like swapping wifes.

IF you get your boat back, it is NEVER the same.

No way I would ever let a stranger operate my trawler. Too many systems, too
many gremlins, too many quirps!
