Not to worry . . . I can assure you that you and rec.boats.cruising have
nothing to fear from me, Wilbur Hubbard.
Although I am a friend of the Good Captain's I lack the know-how to cause
the blacklisting and demise of a newsgroup. Unlike him, I don't have friends
in high places of power in Usenet (and elsewhere) like he does. But, as long
as you continue to abide known netKKKops the likes of Jonathan Ganz in this
group I'd guess rec.boats.cruising is also in some danger of being reduced
to smoldering rubble heap should the Good Captain get wind of it and return
to make things right. But, if the Good Captain does find out, don't blame
me. I won't tell him where known netKKKops have slunk off to do their dirty
work. Besides, I don't think they even know what wi-fi is where he is
wheeling and dealing in Cuba these days.
Wilbur Hubbard
ASA was the busiest when the good Capt Neal ruled it. Then the netkkkopping
started, a few left including the good Capt himself. Bobsprit, the
blubbering material narcissist took over and in a relatively short matter
everyone else left. It was stated by those who departed that they were
leaving because Bobsprit was unbearable. I know of no one who left because
of the good Capt Neal. ASA was at its pinnacle when the good Capt Neal and
JaxAshby were there. Go back and review the number of posts on ASA. The top
two posters are the reason it's a rotting corpse. The good Captain does not
have the ability or means to destroy a newsgroup. He can only convince those
who love blue water cruising with the same level of passion as he has that
they are poisoning the very thing they love by dealing with senseless dolts
who vomit upon and make mockery of the honorable art and practice of blue
water cruising. It is a matter of integrity for a true sailor not to caste
his pearls before swine, the good Capt Neal and a few others are true
sailors. For Capt Neal is an honorable man, so are they all, all honorable
men. Come I to speak of Capt Neal's departure. He was my friend, faithful
and just to me...

Bull! It was fine till the lying sack of shit Crapton dragged in the
flonkers.

There is this difference between happiness and wisdom: he that thinks
himself the happiest man, really is so; but he that thinks himself the
wisest, is generally the greatest fool.
Have a nice day
The most entertaining and ironic part of being an idiot is not being
smart enough to realize that you are, and thereby do anything about
it.
Have a nice day
You're joking. He's very, very bad at staying in character. He's just a
jerk. You don't need to be a shrink to recognize that.

yes, but none care.

Nothing for nothing, but I always wondered how many regulars there were
in ASA, and how many were just sockpuppets.
Say what?

Multiple personality phooey... he's just plain bonified.

You're a fine one to be pointing fingers, BB.

You're just irritated with "Wilbur" because he made a fool of you when
you tried to stalk him.
However, I agree that it would be better to not have the influx of
bizarro/retardos that seem to follow "Wilbur" and some of his
manifestations around the internet. Makes it difficult to carry on a
conversation.

Times past, there were at least a couple dozen real people, many with
lots to contribute. I don't know why that particular forum seemed to
attract so many embittered sociopathic failures (or maybe it was just
one or two).

Obviously spoken from experience!

Remember a couple weeks ago when Hillary Clinton accused Barak Obama of
plagiarizing a friend of his because he made a similar statement in a
speech. Something like, "Just a word? I have a dream, just words. Ask not
what your country can do for you . . ., just words, etc."
The point being that people who spend time together often begin to sound
alike. If people think I sound like the Good Captain then I'm honored. No
one better to be compared to in the sailing world IMHO.
Wilbur Hubbard
Perchance are you referring to Jon Boy?
So what if Capt. JG likes a bone or two up his rear end? Everybody knows
he's gay so leave him alone. I think it's even legal to be gay in California
where he lives with his mommy.
Wilbur Hubbard
This 'group' used to be busy and had a lot of good discussions going
on. A lot of the old 'regulars' simply dropped when that asshole
showed up.
IGNORE HIM and his sock puppets or this group will go the way of
sailing.asa
TOTALLY IGNORE HIM .... or this group will soon be DEAD.
Fairer words have rarely been written. I, too, count myself among the close
friends of Capt. Neal. It's an honor and a privilege to be able to share his
vast knowledge of blue water sailing and his love of life and his way of
doing things that borders on perfection. His teaching of life's lessons to
all who are intelligent enough to comprehend the logic and reason they
contain probably has done more to influencing proper sailing philosophy and
technique than all the other blabber-mouth, chat room style posts combined
in all the sailing related newsgroups. His star shines bright and, like
Polaris, serves as a guide to sailors the world over along the path to
knowledge and success.
Just look at what happens to people who failed to heed his lessons. Take
Capt. Joe and Red Cloud, for example. He ignored the Good Captain's warning
about the danger and inherent unseaworthiness of pilot house sailboats and
all those big flat windows that any respectable breaking wave would have
little or no trouble taking out. At least Ole Thomas Stewart was smart
enough to heed intelligent advice based upon years of experience. He sold
his dangerous boat. Smart move or he, too, would be skulking around totally
embarrassed and ashamed of himself.
And nobody's heard from Jeff Morris in months. I've heard rumors that his
catamaran turned turtle and sunk with the loss of all hands. I pray this
isn't the case but if it's true he would be alive today had he heeded the
Good Captain's words of warning about the dangerous nature of multihulls and
how they are a poor choice for offshore work.

I believe the flonkers were responding to netkkkopping from a particular
individual. That's what they said.
Did you notice the flonkers went away suddenly? Do you really think they
were "netkkkopped" away? They were the scourge of Usenet for years, they met
their demise at ASA.
Ever notice that a few other super evil types there got their due?
There was a benevolent hand looking over that group and if Capt Neal did
what you think he did, he would have dealt with. Few will ever know the
particulars, but he was one of the biggest benefactors that group had. When
you think of the good Capt, you should envision:
http://mydivx.lihoman.ru/order/direct/monty/gilliam.holy.grail2.jpg
I do agree it was fine until the flonkers arrived. You can believe all you
want that Capt Neal recruited them to harrass the group, but the evidence
tends to indicate they arrived in dribs and drabs and were provoked by a
particular netkkkop into an all out brawl. It was their stated aim to get
netkkkops and they found at least one. Maybe Capt Neal netkkkopped them and
got them mad but it doesn't seem plausible that he just went over to some
flonker group and said "hey guys, go over here and ..." It also doesn't seem
plausible he netkkkoped them either, as the flonkers made it known who they
were after and why. The flonkers were also after the good Capt himself so I
don't think he was one of them.
Even if he did drag in the flonkers, they needed a reason to stay. Who gave
them that reason? Who gave the flonkers what they came for?
If none of that can be shaven by Occam's razor, then let's go to the old
standard - the flonkers were all the Capt's sockpuppets.
Jakob
I thought it was that Katysails witch who brought in all the meows and alien
flonkers??? Isn't it true that she sent in multiple bogus abuse complaints
(netKKKopping) to one Gary Burnore who is the head of the alien flonkers and
he investigated and found out the complaints were all from Katy and Jon Boy
and that Katy had sent in complaints from five or six different computers
under different names to make it seem like dozens of people where
complaining about the Good Captain. When the higher-ups in Usenet
administration found out about the festering netKKKop den in alt.sailing.asa
they informed the meow meow army and both subscribed and informed the group
they needed to exorcise the netKKKops or else the group would be reduced to
a smoldering pit.
They were very patient according to Capt. Neal. They gave the group many
chances and almost a year to comply but too many in the group continued to
support the netKKKops thus bringing ruin upon the group in the end.
Katysails has slunk off in shame but Jon Boy remains and as long as he
remains alt.sailing.asa will continue to be a dead group. Soon many servers
will quit carrying it because of the low volume of posts.
Wilbur Hubbard
And spoken out of ignorance of how to use the English language.
Anybody well-versed would have written the following: "The most entertaining
and ironic part of being an idiot is being too stupid to realize you are one
thereby failing to do anything about it."
So much illiteracy around here. Didn't the Good Captain also rail against
that?
Wilbur Hubbard
You are way too benevolent and too easily give benefit of the doubt.
I believe he meant what he said and can back it up!
[snip}
Neal, I have edit your post and left only the factual parts,
unfortunately it amounts to a null set.
Cheers
Marty
Ha ha ha ha! How could you edit "Neal's" post when you edited MY (Wilbur
Hubbard's) post. And your edit seems to have left my posting intact. Have
you been popping some of Jon Boy's LSD pills?
But, I'm afraid the facts as stated by ME remain the facts whether or not
you try to delete them. History is history and you cannot revise history by
deleting it. What's next for you. Burning history books at the library??
Hope you're better flicking your Bic than pecking away at your keyboard.
Wilbur Hubbard
Sigh, you must have been a terrible disappointment to your mother.
