After spending three calls to Rigrite over three days just to get
prices (they must keep their price book in another building), I made
an order for Kenyon traveller hardware after being told it would be
shipped overnight.  Later, they actually left me a phone message (they
never returned any other requests for calls) telling me it would be an
extra week because they didn't have the parts.  Today, two weeks later
I called and after holding the phone 5 minutes (while they looked for
the order in another building?) they told me the order was not ready
and didn't know when it would be ready.

I finally got smart and cancelled the order.  Now, I wouldn't use
Kenyon or anything else from those incompetents no matter what.

Now I'm looking for 3/4" mainsheet traveller hardware to replace the
Kenyon stuff. Any suggestions?

Yeah, switch to Harken. See any of the major chandleries in your area.
They'll even let you touch it.....

When I jibe-destroyed the 3/4" "seaward" traveller on our Santana 22, I
went to Rigright for a replacement. They suggested upgrading to a
"fairway" car, which I did. Turns out that the fairway car was made by
Fico, which became part of Nicro, and then of Ronstan. It's still in the
catalog. I could have gotten a newly minted car for less than the antique!

I must add that I was treated well and the order was received promptly.

I ordered parts from Rigrite on Feb 8th, they arrived 2 months later.

I was not please with the strudiness of one of the pieces and they
have agreed totake it back (20% re-stock fee), and stated that one
should not use a 3/8" bolt on a boom. Well the manufacturer of my
boat (Cape Dory) did so, so I figure its okay. Not sure if I'll be
using RigRite again, unless I have no option.

I'm not sure if you are looking for blocks or the traveler car, but I
recently bought a traveler track, car, blocks, etc. from Garhauer and am
very pleased with it. They bent and drilled it to match my old Nicro
stuff before anodizing it. They have a web site and sell direct.

Ol' man Garhauer doesn't publish any load ratings. I'm not sure he knows how
to measure it anyway. He just makes his fittings about twice as strong as
necessary to avoid any problems.<g>

He makes good stuff. It ain't glamorus but the price is right.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just took a look but didn't see any
track (It must have a bit of curve in it). Anyhow, never had heard of
these folks, will give them a look.

Thanks again, Rob

I also agree... I have had good experiences with Garhauer, very helpful.
Practical sailor liked their vang, and the pricing is very reasonable.

I also agree. I bought a pair of genoa cars from them at the boat show in
Chicago last year. I was concerned about them working well on my curved track
(they work fine as it turns out). He told me at the time that if I had any
problem with them, they would replace them, period. Even if they fell overboard
and were lost. I haven't had a chance to test this, and hopefully I won't.
