Looking for best choice for products for painting alum cockpit fab
stuff for salt water use.

The item is top- about 6' x 8' double sided so about 100 sq ft so not
a lot of materials - but looking for long term, no maintenance finish.

No finish is not an option. Anodizing may be but don't know about
availability for the size.

Thinking some 2 part paint (Awlgrip?) - with what prep, primer ?

Go and talk to your local Awlgrip paint rep (or International Paint, or
Heppels, Jotun, Devoe, etc.)

They will all be happy to print you out the proper paint schedule including
preparation and primers.

No - linear 2 part urethanes don't bond well enough, especially to things like
aluminum. Look for moisture cured urethanes MCU, perhaps aluminum filled.

I can help if you cannot find MCU coatings.
