Yes, this is a Kubota engine that Nanni marinizes. Just installed the 5.280
version, which it appears has also been discontinued. As I only have about 6
hr's on it, I can't speak about reliability from personal experience. It
starts and runs well so far.
Kubota seems to have a good reputation for it's diesel engines. They are
used in the Kubota line of tractors, construction equip., generators, etc., so
parts should be avalable world wide for the basic engine.
Nanni supplies the header tank with enclosed heat exchanger, jabsco salt
water pump (direct drive) and some plumbing. Fairly standard stuff.
I think the literature I had on the 6.280 (sorry it's gone now), listed it
as a 62hp at 2800. Nanni should be able to send you a parts list and shop
manual. They have a web page at
www.nannidiesel.com that lists their
dealers. The current US dealer is at
WWW.laudiesel.com. You can also check
the local yellow pages for a Kubota tractor dealer to inquire about basic
engine parts.
One thing I liked about the Kubota was that for the HP, the displacement
was fairly large (2.8ltr) and RPM's were lower than for similar engines (and
no turbo).
Hope this helps.
