Anyone know if Pettit EasyPoxy rolls & tips very easily (roll it on, tip it
out with a foam brush)? I'm painting the inside of small boat and it's
harder than hell to fit my spray gun into the tight places. I doubt the
System Three paint will work worth a darn if I spray it with this equipment.
I'll try my Dad's detail gun, but I suspect that I'll have to switch to a
roller and foam brush to roll & tip. The System Three paint is designed to
do this, but it goes on thin and dries fast. I'm wondering if something
else would be easier ... we've got EasyPoxy in the local marina ...

I rolled and tipped my hull with Easypoxy, but I used a regular brush for
the tipping. It worked great. I don't know how the foam brush would work.
Just make sure your strokes are vertical on vertical surfaces. Otherwise,
it will sag.

Regular brushes do a better job for a variety of reasons. However, if
you are new to boat painting, you probably should stick with foam
brushes. They don't carry as much paint/varnish and thus the beginner
will not have as many sags or runs.

Well, paint does flow out better if applied fore and aft. If the paint
is sagging, there is a problem somewhere.

Brush painting is a real art. Varnish gets the applause, but paint is
really harder.
