Does anyone out there know if it is possible to get installation drawings
for Honda 4-stroke outboard motors. I am planning to re-engine a sailing
catamaran with an outboard on a swinging bracket as used in the Caribbean
and need to work out the space required. Our local agents claim nothing is
available, but they dont actually care about sailboat applications and
usually know very little about anything beyond the basics. I cannot find an
e-mail address for the manufacturers, so I try here where all sorts of
information seems to be available.

Thanks,
Peter

I don't have the diagrahms but here is the Honda Marine url. They are
excellent at returning calls and very helpful.
Good luck. http://www.honda-marine.com/

Brian,
Well, you have a web site. I am afraid that they will not be a lot of help. I
acquired all of the information that Honda could provide for the 9.9 that I
have on my sloop. None of the information that you really need is in there.
In fact there is no dimensional data that is not in the sales brochure.

Hey Brian- Tell me what size and length Honda you are going to use and I
will go to a dealer here in Florida and measure the hell out of it. I
work with a tape measure, so I might be able to get you some usefull
numbers.I hope to buy a 40 to 50 horse four stroke sometime this year-
this will be a good chance to test the temperment of the local dealers.
Having lived in the Bahamas for a few years, I know how diff. it can be
to get info. Cheers.

Drop in on http://www.honda-marine.com/ and click on the type of engine
your considering. They all have a spec page with size measurements in
both MM and ASA. That should get you started in the right direction.

Brian,
I was in the same position you were and what you need to ask for is the
rigging manual. With some persistance I was able to get the rigging
information from on the dealers. I have the information for the Honda
40/50hp if that's the one you need. I had to use the back door approach
at Suzuki to get the information.
