Review of "Superdove, How the Pigeon Took Manhattan . . . and the
World," in the NY Times. (Yes, the correct name, Rock Dove, is mentioned
in the review. "Super Rock Dove" doesn't roll off the tongue as easily.)

Last I heard, the common name for _Columba livia_ was changed to Rock
Pigeon. Who can keep up? :-)

pellets?

My son and I were on the road for a long car ride to a relative's house
a few years ago to have Thanksgiving dinner with them. We were
listening to NPR in the car, and they had funny turkey stories on. One
of the stories was about a product marketed as small packs of seasoning
to season your turkey with placed in the skin of the breast called
'Turkey TaTas'. :)

The other story I remember from that day was about a product called
'Pepper Shot' Wherein you load your shotgun with it, and that when you
shoot your turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, the shot is made with pepper
and some other seasonings which is meant to pre-season the bird.

It was pretty funny stuff!

Well, I guess some folks might eat the head, which is what hunters aim
for. Maybe it's better with pepper... :-)
