Help with baby Cockateil

I'm sure that you would have heard this before but I need assistance with a
baby cockateil. We are picking him/her up this week-end.

What is the best type of food to feed it until seeds can be
given? When can it start eating seeds?

What is the best method (apart from heaps of love) to tame and make the bird
human friendly?
Are there any particular things I should look out for when
choosing a bird?
What does a Cockateil do to aviod getting bored? eg toys etc.

This is my first time accessing this newsgroup, so you may have gotten help
already. However, I think you would be smart to access Rec.Pets.Birds which
is full of subscribers with exotic birds. Also, you might enjoy a
subscription to Bird Talk magazine.
