I get the feeling that these birds sometimes don't migrate, depending upon
area. Where can i find a migration map?

In any good brid ID book.

Or you can Google the species you are interested in and go to the
appropriate Cornell Lab of Ornithology link.

Then you would be correct--some do some do not but, as already stated
look at a bird guide--either on line or book.
