I just saw this in April's Wired magazine, the "Fetish" section, page
58. I have no idea if this works or not, but it seemed very gadget-y
fun.

Logic Product Development makes BirdCam for $399. "This tiny videocam
is the first designed specifically for remote surveillance of feeders
and birdbaths. The weather-resistant diital CCD cam sends ring-side
images and sounds to your TV or VCR. Just string the included cable
from the 12-inch gooseneck to your house and you can watch rare species
from hundreds of feet away. Or link the BirdCam to the Web for a live,
fair-feathered broadcast from your homepage."

It continued to give the company's site and phone: www.teamlogica.com
(but I couldn't find anymore info here...)

Maybe in a few Christmas'es from now they will be affordable. :)

I had to look around a bit to find their page describing it:
