First Official Winter Arrival

I stepped out with the camera this morning and was greeted with the
stunningly beautiful whistle of Pine Grosbeaks in my backyard. :)

They are not too far off of their normal arrival date of the end of
October. They will be here now until next May. Fingers crossed for
good numbers of them.

Next arrivals should be Common Redpolls.

Those arrivals are probably the only thing that makes winter tolerable
way up there. All you need now is a few Northern Cardinals.
