I was sitting in the driveway the other night, enjoying the stars, when I heard a horrendous squeak squeak, squeak squeak, squeak squeak, squeak squeak sound approaching me.
It sounded like a wheel bearing running dry.
Then the barn owl flew overhead.
I suppose it was taking some poor varmint to its palm tree roost to tear it apart to feed its young.
I have found numerous owl pellets on the ground below...
